The practice
Warranty law, and only warranty law
Steve is the founder and principal counsel of Premier Legal Center, A.P.C., in La Jolla. His practice is consumer warranty law — representing vehicle owners against manufacturers under the Song-Beverly Consumer Warranty Act and the federal Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act.
The firm was founded on a straightforward proposition: a manufacturer has a legal department and an ordinary owner does not, and California's warranty statute exists to correct that imbalance. It does that in part by making the manufacturer pay the owner's legal fees when a claim succeeds (Cal. Civ. Code § 1794(d)).
Our standards
How the firm works
Attorney-led, always
Your case is handled by a lawyer rather than routed through a rotating cast of case managers. You will know who is working your file.
Warranty law only
Song-Beverly and Magnuson-Moss are the practice. That is the reason the firm knows which faults a manufacturer settles and which ones it fights.
The manufacturer pays the fees
Contingency on every case, and § 1794(d) shifts a prevailing buyer's attorney fees to the manufacturer — so you never write the firm a cheque.
